Something Old, Something New, Something for Everyone

Florida's Northeast Region

Northeast Florida, known as "Florida's First Coast," combines America's oldest European settlement with one of the nation's leading modern seaports, with a collection of small up-and-coming towns adding to the local color and natural beauty. Walking and home tours of the historic district are conducted from the Amelia Island Museum of History. Nearby state parks offer abundant seaside educational and recreational activities. Visitors can spot endangered right whales offshore in the winter or explore the Civil War-era Fort Clinch.
